JUJU Project

‘JUJU’ is a project that has met over 140 comfort women in many countries not only Chosun women who were left in Korea and China but also women in Philippines, Indonesia, East Timor and China to record and support testimonies and sufferings of the victims of sexual slavery by Japanese military in the last 25 years. It is also a work to confirm that all these brutality and acts against humanity such as conscription, confinement, sexual violence and abandonment are still left as an indelible imprint in the heart of comfort women.
Many people sympathize with the suffering of comfort women who are struggling to live and share their lives together through photo exhibition and lectures. JUJU connects comfort women and citizens in a triangular structure to keep the communication. We also repair houses and provide checkups and medical support to improve their living environment.
We must pay continuous attention and record it so that Japanese military sexual slavery issue can’t be distorted or concealed any more. We work together with you to find the truth and build foundation for anti-war peace from the perspective of international war crimes beyond individual national issues so that it can be remained as history and human rights issue of us, not as individual memories and tears.

Historical records

whatisjuju003

We record the truth that is distorted and concealed by Japanese government and memories and pains that would never be erased in the lives of victims with testimony and photographs since it is not a historical issue between Korea and Japan, but it is a matter of whole Asia. We find unknown survivors in Indonesia, Philippines and Eat Timor and visit comfort women in another war.

· We continuously record the testimony at that time from victims and their suffering lives.
· We record ongoing activities to solve Japanese military sexual slave issues.
· We prepare the foundation of research by doing recording project of victim’s testimony.
